Our Vision
Our goal is to provide a sanctuary for spiritual growth and learning, where everyone is welcome to explore the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism. We strive to create an environment that nurtures inner peace, wisdom, and compassion, contributing positively to the well-being of our community and the world.
"Be kind whenever possible. It's always possible"
By His Holiness The Dalai Lama
Voices From Our Community
Real experiences from members of Tashi Gephelling Buddhist Centre
Attending weekly prayers at TGBC has truly transformed my daily life. The warmth of the community and Rinpoche's gentle, joyful guidance have given me a real refuge from the busyness of Singapore.
I came to TGBC knowing very little about Tibetan Buddhism. The teachings are practical, accessible, and applicable to everyday life. Rinpoche has a rare gift for making the Dharma feel alive and relevant.
The Medicine Buddha pujas have brought real peace during difficult times. This centre feels like a second family. The dedication of everyone here — from Rinpoche to every volunteer — is truly moving.
All are welcome to join us for Sunday prayers at 8A Mayo Street, Singapore 🙏
Founder
Bise Rinpoche is the founder of the Tashi Gephelling Buddhist Center. He was born in 1976 and was recognized by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama as the reincarnation of the 5th Bise Rinpoche in 1986.
Bise Rinpoche was Chief and highly respected in East Tibet Amdo Ja Khyung Monastery (meaning "eagle mountain", as the monastery is shaped like an eagle). It is also the monastery where the first Lama Tsong Khapa became a Novice Monk.
Rinpoche entered Sera Jey Monastery and took up Getsu (Novice Monk). He took his vows from His Holiness Dalai Lama and was given the name Tenzin Gephel. Rinpoche was fully ordained in 1997.
Rinpoche studied Buddhist Philosophy from 1986 and graduated in 2007 with a Geshe Degree, equivalent to a PhD in Buddhist Philosophy. In 2008, Rinpoche completed the Tantric College in Gyudmey Monastery, South India. Rinpoche has conducted the Hayagriva Retreat many times at Sera Jey Monastery.
From 2011 to 2014, he was appointed Chief Abbot for Sera Jey Branch Monastery, Jamyang Choekorling Monastery in Tawang, North India. Rinpoche conducted Hayagriva Initiation and Empowerment upon public request during his term. Upon completing his three-year term, he was invited to host the Annual Sera Jey Guru Rinpoche Thousand Offerings event in the United States in 2014.
Currently, Rinpoche is travelling across Asia — in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore.
