About Tashi Gephelling Buddhist Centre

A Gelug Tibetan Buddhist Centre in Singapore

Tashi Gephelling Buddhist Centre (TGBC) is a non-profit Tibetan Buddhist centre based in Singapore, following the Gelug tradition — the lineage of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and Lama Tsongkhapa.

The centre's name, Tashi Gephelling, is a Tibetan phrase meaning "the glorious, auspicious place of happiness" — a reflection of the aspiration at the heart of the centre's work: to create the causes of happiness and liberation for all beings.

Our Tradition

TGBC practises within the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism, one of the four major schools of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. The Gelug tradition places particular emphasis on rigorous study of Buddhist philosophy alongside tantric practice, following the lam rim (graduated path to enlightenment) teachings of Je Tsongkhapa.

Practitioners at TGBC engage in a full range of Gelug practices, including deity yoga, mantra recitation, tsog (feast offerings), fire pujas, and the regular performance of puja ceremonies on behalf of sponsors and all beings.

What We Offer

Prayer & Puja Sponsorship

TGBC performs a wide range of traditional Tibetan Buddhist puja ceremonies that sponsors can request for themselves, their families, or in memory of loved ones who have passed away. These include fire pujas, Medicine Buddha prayers, Heart Sutra ceremonies, wealth deity pujas, and more. Sponsorships start from as little as $5 SGD and are open to people of all backgrounds.

Dharma Offerings

The centre facilitates offerings and sponsorships that directly support the Sangha — ordained monks and nuns — at major Tibetan Buddhist monasteries including Sera Monastery and Drepung Monastery in India. Supporting the Sangha is one of the highest forms of merit-making in the Buddhist tradition.

Projects

TGBC is actively involved in meaningful Dharma projects, including the construction of the Namgyalma Stupa in Malaysia — a powerful merit field for all beings in the region. Sponsors can contribute to this and other ongoing projects through the centre.

Pilgrimage

TGBC periodically organises pilgrimage programmes to sacred Buddhist sites, including Dharamsala (the seat of His Holiness the Dalai Lama) and other holy places in India and Nepal. These pilgrimages offer practitioners the rare opportunity to receive teachings, make offerings at sacred sites, and deepen their connection to the Dharma.

Our Commitment

Tashi Gephelling Buddhist Centre is a registered non-profit organisation. All offerings made through the centre are used with complete transparency and dedicated back to sponsors and all sentient beings. Financial statements and policies are available on our Policies & Transparency page.
