Our tradition

Je Tsongkhapa

The Gelug lineage

We practise within the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism — the lineage of Je Tsongkhapa (1357–1419) and His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama — which joins rigorous study of philosophy with tantric practice, following the lam rim, the graduated path to enlightenment.

H.E. the 5th Bise Rinpoche — recognised by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Geshe of Sera Jey, graduate of Gyudmey Tantric College — leads every prayer at TGBC and guides students across Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. Read his story →
