About Tara:

Tara (度母) embodies the female aspect of wisdom and compassionate action. She is an emanation of Amoghsiddhi Buddha — the Buddha of the air element — and is revered as the swift protector who delivers beings from the eight fears: lions, elephants, fire, snakes, thieves, water, captivity, and demons. Sponsoring her image is said to bring protection, swift fulfilment of wishes, and the accumulation of vast merit for all beings connected to the offering.

The 21 Taras range from peaceful green and white forms to more wrathful emanations, each with unique hand gestures (mudras) and attributes that embody specific qualities of enlightened action.

About This Offering:

Tashi Gephelling Buddhist Centre is a non-profit Tibetan Buddhist centre in Singapore. All offerings are dedicated back to sponsors and all beings, with full transparency. The statues are displayed and venerated in our shrine hall at 8A Mayo Street, Singapore.
