Whether you have been walking the Buddhist path for decades or are taking your very first steps, Tashi Gephelling Buddhist Centre (TGBC) in Singapore is a place of warmth, learning, and genuine spiritual community. As we launch this blog, we want to share what happens here each week — and extend a heartfelt invitation to join us.
Who We Are
Founded under the guidance of Bise Rinpoche — a Geshe-trained master recognised by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and a graduate of Gyudmey Tantric College — TGBC has been a home for the Dharma in Singapore since 2015. We are a registered non-profit, and our community of over 500 members comes together each week for prayer, meditation, and teaching.
Our name, Tashi Gephelling, means "the place where auspiciousness increases" — and that spirit guides everything we do.
Weekly Programmes
Our regular gatherings are open to all. Here is what a typical week looks like:
- Weekly Saturday Puja (Prayer Ceremony) — Chanting and offerings practised in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.
- Dharma Teachings — Bise Rinpoche and visiting teachers give talks on Buddhist philosophy, ethics, and meditation — in English and Mandarin.
- Meditation Sessions — Guided sitting practice, with instruction available for newcomers.
Check our Events page for the current schedule, including special observances for Tibetan Buddhist holy days.
Coming Up: Saga Dawa Celebrations
Saga Dawa — one of the most sacred months in the Tibetan calendar, commemorating the birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana of the Buddha — is a wonderful time to join us. During this auspicious period, the merit of virtuous actions is said to be multiplied many thousandfold. We invite you to join our special pujas and teachings throughout the month.
Even a single day of practice during Saga Dawa is a precious opportunity. We welcome first-time visitors warmly — no prior experience is needed, and there is no charge to attend.
